How do I become a member?

Currently our membership can only be acquired in person, so come during our office hours to room 4302B in the AMS Nest and we'll be happy to help you!

How do I rent equipment?

To rent equipment from the club you need to be a type B & D member of our club and fill out this form. Once we receive the form, our equipment manager will get in touch with you shortly. You can find our inventory here.

How do I book the studio?

The Studio is available Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm to 9pm. To rent the studio please fill out this form

How do I Hire Photographers?

The UBC PhotoSoc now has a volunteering photographer program. If you're a club at UBC or a non-UBC affiliated organization looking for photographers from us, simply fill out the form and potential photographers will be able to get in touch with you. 

Can alumni be members of the PhotoSoc?

Yes, they can! If you're UBC Alumni do not hesitate to swing by the office on campus and we'll be happy to help you out with getting your membership. Due to UBC AMS bylaws membership prices differ:

  • A: $15
  • B: $45
  • C: $60
  • D: $105

Do we still work with film photography?

In this ever digitized world, the UBC PhotoSoc still provides facilities for people who work with film and analogue processes. With the generosity of the UBC Visual Arts department, we now provide film development and darkroom use in the UBC Binning Studio. We provide D-76 black and white film processing, chemicals and photo paper is provided with the type C & D PhotoSoc memberships.
